SABHA Code of Conduct Policy (excerpt only)
Overview and Purpose
To ensure that all members, spectators, officials and volunteers at any SABHA event have a very clear understanding of the behaviour that is expected from everyone.
SABHA expects all members, competitors, spectators, officials and volunteers to act in a professional manner, be respectful and show good sportsmanship.
Scope
Competitors and spectators are required to:
- Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their age, gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
- Display good sporting behaviour at all times.
- Never use offensive language or behaviour towards anyone or engage in sledging or bullying of any person.
- Co-operate and be respectful to officials -
Note: judges, gate personnel and committee members are officials.
- Adhere to SABHA animal welfare policies and regulations.
- Never behave in a manner that brings disrepute to SABHA or to the ABHA.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY POLICY (excerpt only)
Policy overview and purpose
SABHA is committed to providing and maintaining a child safe and fun environment. SABHA believes it is important that families can capture their memories and share them with friends.
It is however the right of SABHA, to restrict, ban or require permission for photography.
Note: If you do not wish for your child to be photographed, please contact the SABHA Secretary or President via email.
Policy
1. It is the general policy of SABHA that, taking images is acceptable in the following circumstances:
- The images meet the definition below of ‘appropriate images’.
- Images are taken respectfully and by a person known to the person, competitor or SABHA (i.e. registered photographer).
- SABHA competitors are aware that images will be taken.
- Identifying information is excluded from any publication of images unless permission has been obtained and granted images of children must not be used inappropriately or illegally.
- Camera phones, videos and cameras are not permitted to be used inside changing areas, showers and toilets.
- No person taking images will be allowed unsupervised access to children. Any concerns or complaints of inappropriate behaviour should be directed to the President of SABHA and if not available, to a committee member in the first instance.
- Persons unknown to you should not be made the subject of an image without permission.
- Persons must be appropriately clothed.
- Images should be relevant to the sport (i.e. during a competition or presentation). Random crowd photos for example could be considered a breach of privacy (unless professional photographer for events).
- Images should not involve unusual body positions or poses that could potentially be misused.
- Personal information must not be published without permission (if unavoidable, only first name should be used).
- Information that has potential to be used as a grooming tool must not be publicised (i.e. name, personal details, hobbies etc).
Permissions and Use of images
- Participants consent to images being taken by (or on behalf of) SABHA and being used for promotional purposes by and for SABHA.
- Images may be shown in a public environment (in South Australia, interstate and/or overseas).
- Participants who do not consent to the use of images should inform SABHA in writing.
SABHA accepts that parents, families and competitors will have legitimate reasons for taking images. SABHA will not unnecessarily restrict a person taking images so long as in doing so this policy is not breached.
- No child should be identified/named without permission of their parent/guardian.
- It is accepted that where new technologies are in place there is potential all activities in that area may be filmed.
Consent at ABHA affiliated SABHA competitions/events
All photographers and videographers that attend an Australian Barrel Horse Association (ABHA) affiliated competition/event with South Australian Barrel Horse Association (SABHA) are required to have all relevant papers lodged with ABHA prior to SABHA consent.

Policy Breaches and Sanctions
Any breaches of SABHA policies can result in disciplinary action as per SABHA's rules; Policies and Procedures. Any breaches of ABHA rules will be as per their rules and regulations.
